Al Jazira Toastmasters, Abu Dhabi, was formed in 2002 with the aim to support individuals in progressing towards public speaking abilities and leadership skills and to have fun along the way, through local club meetings, training seminars and speech contests.
Each meeting at Al Jazira Toastmasters gives you an opportunity to practice conducting meetings, giving impromptu speeches, presenting prepared speeches, and offering constructive evaluation.
You can also take on a more prominent role and improve your leadership skills even more by joining the Club Committee which is elected on a rotating basis.
The Toastmasters Al Jazira Chapter has members of different nationalities and people from all walks of life. We have been successful in imbibing ideas from every member of our club to channelize growth. This provides us with a unique blend - of rich thoughts and richer experience.
A guest will witness the proceedings of a meeting that underlines multiple purposes:

Genesis of Legacy
Successful men might achieve their dreams through single minded dedication and leave behind a name encased in fame or perhaps status or yet, an enviable inheritance!! And definitely a bigger set of problems perhaps!
But noble men leave behind a legacy! A legacy with a provision for provenience, to imbibe, to propagate for individual betterment and there by a genesis of a collective whole.
For me the senior Jazirians like CL Farrukh, CL Anil, ACB Jamsheed, ACB Derick to name a few are nobility personified!!
They have shaped the character of the club with a single sentiment and that is “Commitment”-a one for all and all for one kind of commitment!
Every year every new President is bequeathed with a legacy of committed members, the spiralling upward trends of success and an intrinsic unity!
Core Strength
The secret of synergy amongst the members including the new members is the wholesome encouragement extended. This is achieved on the bridges of mentoring and exposure to opportunities to take up various roles in and outside club meetings.
Crowning Glory
TM Muneeswaran’s propensity to winning is seen by his fantastic growth graph. In just his second year as a toastmaster was the winner at the Division Conference in the Humorous and represented our Division at DTAC. Treading the winners path was also placed third in the pre-DTAC runs.

TM Farrukh Ali from our club held the highest position in leadership in the Division H. He was the Division Governor for the year 2009-2010.
Al Jazira Club was awarded with the President Distinguished Club by Toastmasters International (TMI) for two years (2008 -2009 and 2009-2010) for achieving all the goals in Distinguished Club Program(DCP) laid out by TMI.
Most Toastmasters meetings are comprised of approximately 20 people who meet weekly for an hour or two. Participants practice and learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.
There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved.
Good communicators tend to be good leaders. Some well-known Toastmasters alumni include:

Why Join a Toastmasters Club
Survey after survey shows that presentation skills are crucial to success in the workplace. Many people pay high fees for seminars to gain the skill and confidence necessary to face an audience. Toastmasters provide an option that is less expensive and held in high regard in business circles. This organization has been around for more than 84 years and offers a proven – and enjoyable – way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills.
